Welcome to Bear’s Doodles, home of bred Bordoodles in the Greenville County, South Carolina area.
My love for having a trail dog alongside me as I ride my horse is what inspired my new hobby of breeding doodles. Bordoodles specifically as of now.
It all started about 2 years ago when I realized that my most loyal friend Captain Kirk (Border Collie) wasn’t getting any younger and that it would make sense to add another furbaby to the mix sooner than later to start learning from him the ropes of the trail. I found the most friendly and intelligent companion in Calliope “Callie” (Parti Poodle). After a few outings, Callie was head to head with Captain Kirk in leading the trail.
The ease of Callie’s training was not the only thing that amazed me. Her coat didn’t shed, a strong contrast to Captain Kirk. This is when I had an “ah ha” moment. Wouldn’t it be great to have a smart trail dog that didn’t shed? With a Border Collie and a Poodle ranking number 1 and 2 consecutively on the list of the brightest dog breeds, our dogs’ puppies would be exactly that. And with the natural canoodling between our 2 dogs occurring, it seemed like fate for them to give birth to F1 Bordoodles. And oh my, how cute they are!
With Callie’s first litter (and ours!) of 11 puppies born in March 2021, with a possibility of 1 or at most 2 more litters to come, Bear’s Doodles came to fruition. We couldn’t have asked for a better Momma to these pups, who are raised and loved in our home alongside their parents. It is bittersweet when these poodle mixes reach 8 weeks, but our loss is your gain! We find pleasure in being able to share these wonderful traits through breeding to others who share our love for doodles and are looking for a family pet.
Cheers to adding more love in your life!
